Happy Valley

Happy Valley is an exhibition of video art by local artist and historian Merlin Fulcher.

The content of the show is documented here; alongside sketches, storyboards and plans, the intention is to create a living entity, of historical, cultural and public value.

The exhibition focuses on public opinion and social space in Battersea, London. The short documentary films explore the relationship residents hold with their surroundings.

Please navigate the video titles: Battersea Day, Local Girl, Cycle Path and Shingle Bay, and explore the supporting media below.

Merlin Fulcher studied Modern History at Lady Margaret Hall - Oxford University. He worked as a set designer and prop maker on The Masque of The Red Death (2007), and on the Future Cinema screening of Guy Ritchie's new film RocknRolla (2008).

Merlin's short screenplay The Waiting Game and performance art piece Revolution Flat Lips! featured at the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art Degree Show 2008.

Happy Valley took place at Platform One Gallery, Wandsworth Common Station, in November 2008.
